The first 4.5 seasons starred Academy Award-winner Kevin Costner as the patriarch of the Dutton family and owner of the eponymous Yellowstone ranch, although the capacity of Costner's involvement in the final half-season is still unknown.
The staggering number of shows is even more impressive considering that Sheridan has a major motion picture in the works as well. Sheridan is set to write, direct, and produce Empire of the Summer Moon, the feature-length adaptation of the sprawling historical account of the rise and fall of the Comanche tribe during the time of the Old West. Simply put, Taylor Sheridan is one of the most important names in drama at the moment.
