Paramount+ has officially announced the Lioness Season 2 renewal for Taylor Sheridan's espionage thriller drama.
Season 2 renewal for Taylor Sheridan’s spy thriller drama. This comes after several months since the Zoe Saldaña-led series had wrapped up its 8-episode first season run, which became the streamer’s most-watched global series premiere in its first 24 hours.
“Our Paramount+ audience resoundingly has joined forces in support of Lioness’ gripping, global story and the powerhouse performances from Zoe Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveira, and Nicole Kidman,” Paramount+ executive Jeff Grossman said in a statement . “We cannot wait to see more of the heart-stopping suspense and action that Taylor Sheridan and the incredibly talented team deliver in its second season.
“Based on a real-life CIA program, the series follows Cruz Manuelos, a rough-around-the-edges but passionate young Marine recruited to join the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within,” reads the logline. “Saldaña will play Joe, the station chief of the Lioness program tasked with training, managing and leading her female undercover operatives.”Maggie Dela Paz has been writing about the movie and TV industry for more than four years now.
