Primary school place applications open for parents across Nottinghamshire on Monday, November 4
Applying for your child's school place can be a stressful time, and it's important to apply sooner rather than later when it comes to getting your first choice. When it comes to applying for a place there are a few key things to consider, such as your catchment area and which schools are oversubscribed. Data shows that for 2023 less than one in three primary schools were oversubscribed, compared two to in three secondary schools. However, whilst primary schools are becoming less competitive to get into overall, some can be difficult to get a place at. This includes Edna G. Olds Academy in Lenton, which only offered places to 50 per cent of the children who had the school listed as their first choice. Followed by Haydn Primary School in Carrington which took on 69 per cent of applications and listed it as a first choice.
