I’ve been writing about video games, television and movies for Forbes for over 10 years, and you may have seen my reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.
We are about to enter an entirely new era of the Harry Potter franchise, where the final film in that series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, was released in 2011. Now, in 2026 most likely, WB is starting over with a new Harry Potter reboot, a TV show that will likely run for a decade, at the very least.
The search for the central trio of Harry, Ron and Hermione will probably produce an unknown crop of young actors, which is exactly what happened with the then-unknown Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. This time around, Hermione is expected to be played by a black actress, given that she was in The Cursed Child and author JK Rowling has previously said Hermione’s race was never actually specified. So it seems likely.
