The team behind the 2023 best seller will coordinate some of its storylines with the upcomingVariety recently spoke with WB Games President David Haddad about the success of Hogwarts Legacy, and its future. Due to its success in creating an authentic experience for the deep Harry Potter fanbase, Hogwarts Legacy 2 is a “very big priority” for the company.
Haddad also confirmed that the upcoming HBO Harry Potter show will incorporated into Hogwarts Legacy 2. How exactly those two things will directly connect is unknown. If Hogwarts Legacy is a direct sequel, it would be set in the late 1800s/ early 1900s. The show is adapting the original story, which is set in the 1990s. While the time periods don’t match up, characters in the series can live ridiculously long lives. It wouldn’t be too uncharacteristic for a character to show up in both products.
“The rest of the company was very curious about what we helped to unlock with ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ last year,” says Haddad. “If we’re going to ever go beyond a canon conversation, we make sure that we’re all comfortable with what we’re doing,” says Warner Bros. Discovery’s head of global consumer products Robert Oberschelp.
