What is something that the public always glamorizes, but in reality isn't even half as good as they make it out to be? The average streamer works 10-12hr days playing the same game for years while getting paid about minimum. Military life. I have family who served in various militaries, I've worked with plenty of people who served in some capacity in the British army, RAF or Navy, their most exciting stories still involved so much drudgery and doing the same things over and over.
Going on a cruise. I’ve been on one and it feels so disgusting by the second day. The pool and hot tub areas feel gross, the food is not nearly as good as you would think it would be. If you disembark it’s a crazy dash to get off the boat and be back in time to catch your boat again. So expensive and the living spaces are tiny. Go to a resort on the ocean or on a lake. It’s like being trapped inside a hotel. Business travel. People think it's fun to shoot off to exotic locations. It's a lot of sitting in airports and anonymous hotels. The past. The 'good old days' had a bit better elements, but things were generally a lot worse. Especially if you weren’t a white male (although even if you were for a lot of things). Not sleeping. Especially amongst college kids. Bragging to your friends that you studied all night and only got a grand total of six hours of sleep in the past week isn't healthy and doesn't do yourself any favors
