The 1st Apple TV+ shows and movies need to be absolute slam dunks
There are also a string of Marvel Cinematic Universe-connected projects, a Jeff Goldblum docuseries and several original films in the pipeline. It's hard to see how Apple TV+ can truly compete with just that service, especially given the reasonable $7/month cost of Disney+ , let alone the myriad other streaming platforms around.
For TV+ to really stand a chance, the projects Apple releases in the first year have to be absolute knockouts. Sure, there’s a seven-day free trial for everyone and people who get a year of access when they buy an Apple device will undoubtedly check it out. Still, good reviews and solid word-of-mouth will be vital.
