The nonprofit Fair Park First assumed oversight of the fairgrounds, raising funds to build a new park and, the hospitality contractor that manages daily operations at the fairgrounds. Questions are swirling about the potential misuse of donor funds.
The board also expanded the scope of the audit to look at more recent donations through April. Forsythe Lill said Fair Park First expects to share the findings once the audit is complete, “taking care that we ensure anonymity of donors.”
