If you're not eating lunch dessert then are you really even living?!
I’d like to call a company-wide meeting to discuss a very important issue plaguing the workplace, and that’s the chronic 3:00 p.m sugar craving. It usually plays out something like this:Vultures descend upon the cake, or the random box of donuts, the delivery of the latest lo-cal, coconut-based, a bag of day-after-Halloween-sale Twix. It doesn’t matter what it is. It’s sweet, and there.
Which is why we should all start packing our own lunch desserts, to ensure the craving is satisfied. And there are other benefits to lunch dessert! Happiness, ya heard of it? After meeting after meeting after yet another “just checking in” email, you deserve a treat. Even if you packed a whole grain, superfood, dairy-free More Virtuous Than Thou
, well, then there’s room in your nutrition bank for a tahini cookie, or an oat-and-date energy ball . Lunch dessert, when brought from home, is definitely healthier than the glazed log of corn syrup from whatever mystery source those office treats are appearing from. And it means you get to control yourself from stale doughnuts tempt you from the ledge outside of accounting.
Hope so. Here are some of my favorite recipes that make perfect lunch desserts. Make sure to bring some for your boss, or whoever approves your vacation days.
