Body slugging comes from K-Beauty, has spread via TikTok and is said to make the skin softer. But does it really work?
The latest TikTok trend is all about getting super soft skin. It's called body slugging, and it's a technique that is aimed at storing moisture in the skin. This can be particularly beneficial in the winter, when the skin is dried out by indoor heaters, but also in the summer, when moisture has been lost through sun exposure or chlorinated water. If the skin loses a lot of moisture, it becomes dry and can crack.
After application, the layer of Vaseline must be washed off thoroughly. Some recommended leaving the Vaseline on the skin overnight. However, experts advise against this, as it seals the skin for too long and may end up damaging it. So if you want to use body slugging overnight, it's best not to do it too often or over too large an area. We strongly advise against rubbing Vaseline all over your body, as your skin won't be able to breathe properly underneath.
