JOHANNESBURG - A special task team of Gauteng and Free State police and crime intelligence is investigating the prison escape of murderer and rapist Thabo Bester.
National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola says they are also probing who the person found burnt in Bester's cell was.Mystery of Facebook rapist Thabo Bester deepensThe department says there will be serious consequences for those found to have been involved in his escape. The Department of Correctional Services has concluded that the body found in a Mangaung cell is not that of Facebook rapist, Thabo Bester. It says Bester escaped from custody in May last year. eNCA reporter Heidi Giokos has more details.
