Linette Rodriguez-Potter was sentenced for her involvement in a conspiracy to import methamphetamine across Texas.
Linette Rodriguez-Potter, 46, from Arlington, Texas , was sentenced to 14 years in prison for her role in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy. Court records allege that on July 25, 2020, Potter attempted to cross the U.S.-Mexico border but was referred for secondary inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers. After searching her vehicle, officers recovered seven packages containing methamphetamine hydrochloride.
Searches of Potter's cell phone revealed conversations with co-conspirator Sally Renae Smith discussing a meeting at a Del Rio motel to traffic the narcotics across Texas. Rodriguez-Potter, Smith, and co-defendants Joshua Keith Stewart and Stetson Lee Spearman all pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charge. Smith was sentenced to 292 months (about 24 years) in prison on Feb. 22, and Stewart was sentenced to 235 months (19.5 years) on Oct. 4
