SAN ANTONIO - Texas State University is preparing for a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event – the total solar eclipse happening on April 8th, 2024. To celebrate this unique learning experience TXST announced they will be suspending classes from noon to 2 p.m. on both the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses.
The entire university community – students, faculty, and staff – are coming together to experience the sight of a total solar eclipse. During totality, the moon will completely block the sun, creating a brief period of darkness and allowing us to see the sun's corona, its outer atmosphere.
