Supporters of the proposed curriculum say it's about freedom of religion and that the state right now is denying students access to this info.

An important vote is expected Friday at noon from the Texas State Board of Education . It will decide if religious content should be included in a child's schoolwork.

But opponents counter that Texas is taking advantage of schools the state itself has underfunded to make this proposal happen. SBOE has 15 elected members from across Texas. They are split 7 to 7 on this debate if you don't count one member appointed by the governor.
