Texas is officially building its own border wall:
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has authorized construction of a wall to be built along the state's border with Mexico, saying he hopes to stem a wave of illegal immigration, with money raised, in part, through crowdfunding.... [+]Abbott allocated $250 million to be spent as a"down payment" to hire contractors and start construction.
The state will build the wall along land it owns along the border, while also letting private property owners volunteer their land to be used for wall construction.
