As for Manning, the top-ranked player in the 2023 class has experienced the expected ups and downs while settling into the No. 3 spot on the depth chart. Redshirt sophomore Jonathon Brooks has all the makings of a go-to back on first and second downs. His career rushing averages compare favorably to Robinson’s, albeit on limited volume. Still, he’s in line to handle much of the early-down work.
