The 18-year-old admitted to getting into a crash in April, but told police she thought she hit a telephone pole.

Anya R. Myers, 18, was using her phone before she crashed around 7:02 a.m. April 27 on the 1800 block of Rockvale Road, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by West Lampeter Township police.

Police said Myers crashed into 43-year-old Samuel King, of Lancaster, who was driving a red foot scooter. The scooter was found in a nearby field not far from King’s body, the affidavit said. King had serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
