Two passengers died and two others were seriously injured after a car crashed on the Southern State Parkway in North Massapequa, New York. The driver, Jaden Dsouza, 19, was charged with multiple offenses.

New York State Police have identified two passengers who died and two who were seriously injured in a crash in North Massapequa on the Southern State Parkway early this morning. The operator of the vehicle, Jaden Dsouza, 19, of College Point and front passenger Anthonie Marte, 23, of East Elmhurst, were extracted from the vehicle and taken to the hospital in serious condition. Rear passengers, Hailey Dsouza, 21, and Crystal Alba-Figueroa, 23, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Jaden Dsouza was charged with one count of driving while ability impaired by drugs, manslaughter vehicular manslaughter, assault and aggravated vehicular homicide. Police say the car was traveling in and out of lanes at a high rate of speed before losing control and crashing into a tree on the shoulder. The crash closed a mile stretch of the parkway for more than six hours before the road reopened around 5:30 a.m. 'The exit is something a lot of people get used to over time and I could see how that could be a problem,' one driver said
