The shooting broke out at Omaha Northwest High School during lunchtime, shortly before 12.30pm on Tuesday. Cops from several agencies found the 15-year-old victim inside the school, according to Omaha Police Deputy Chief Sherie Thomas.
Shortly after 2pm, the Omaha Police Department stated on X that the ‘school is secure’. ‘An individual believed to be the suspect in the shooting has been taken into custody,’ wrote the police department. ‘Police will remain in the area for follow up to the investigation and for reunification with parents.’ A shooting was reported at Omaha Northwest High School shortly before 12.30pm on Tuesday The agency added that there was no threat to the community.
