North Mobile Angel Tree are determined to make Christmas special for local families in need
) - Christy Cornelson, Gena Daniels and Lisa Radford, members of the organization, .
Until the second week of December, the team is collecting items to donate as Christmas gifts to children in Chickasaw and Saraland. The group receives wish lists from school counselors in those areas.“We try to satisfy all requests and the community really comes out and supports us,” Daniels explains.
“One year in particular, we got a child who asked specifically for a blanket and a necklace for their mother. And when we reached out, because this child asked for nothing for themselves, we found out that this mother was sick with cancer, and this child just wanted something for his mother,” shared Cornelson.“We’ve partnered with two businesses this year – Zippy Lube in Saraland,” said Cornelson.
