It’s not every day that we get a Taylor Swift award-show appearance, but trust that whenever she does hit the red carpet, there will always be some sort of hidden symbolism.Last night, Miss Americana made a rare outing for the iHeartRadio Music Awards, where she walked the carpet in a custom look from Wiederhoeft.
Jackson Wiederhoeft’s namesake brand has become a go-to for many of the stars, and his intricate, corsetry-based looks made him a finalist for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award back in 2022. Swift, evidently a fan, wore a floral brocade set from the label just last fall while promoting her album The Life of a Showgirl.On Thursday, the pop superstar turned to the house again, for a zip-up corseted vest and miniskirt in a sage hue, which she paired with matching sandals from Aquazzura. The strappy top was defined by its visible boning and patches of sequins, which trailed off the fabric in some places like fringe. In contrast, the skirt was silky smooth.The record-breaking singer accessorized the look with a tennis bracelet from Spinelli Kilcollin, as well as dangly ombré earrings from Dena Kemp.While this ensemble certainly leaned into the color scheme of Swift’s Showgirl era, it also felt like a subtle nod to her debut album, which has come to be associated with the color green .It’s no coincidence that her self-titled record actually celebrates its 20th anniversary this October, and Swift could be gearing up for something special .Swift will always have a master plan up her sleeve—and no Easter eggs are accidental.
