Begitupun Tang Jie dan Ee Wei menunjukkan semangat juang tinggi untuk mengesahkan slot ke suku akhir esok apabila melakar kemenangan 20-22, 21-19, 21-12 selepas bertarung selama 74 minit. Impian untuk melihat rakan senegara, Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai mara ke suku akhir tidak kesampaian apabila tersungkir di tangan pilihan kelapan kejohanan, Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin dengan keputusan 21-16, 21-18.
