, marking the feature directorial debut of Australian twin brothers Danny and Michael Philippou, which they acquired out of Sundance 2023 in a highly competitive situation and will release in theaters nationwide on July 28th.
The film bowing in Sundance’s Midnight section, which Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman wrote, will contend in its opening weekend at the box office with the newfilm from Disney. It watches as a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, becoming hooked on the new thrill.
Mia is determined to get a piece of the otherworldly action in order to be distracted on the eve of her mother’s death. But when her group of friends gathers for another unruly séance with the mysterious embalmed hand that promises a direct line to the spirits, they’re unprepared for the consequences of bending the rules through prolonged contact.
