Afghanistan's Taliban group have welcomed an announcement by President Trump that he would pull out all U.S. troops from the country by Christmas.
It was"a positive step towards the implementation of Doha agreement," a spokesman for the Islamist group, Mohammad Naeem, said in a statement.
It was unclear from his Tweet whether Trump was giving an order or verbalizing a long-held aspiration.a landmark deal signed between the U.S. and Taliban in February, drew up plans to pull out foreign forces from Afghanistan after two decades of war.
