– As temperatures start to drop in Northeast Florida, Clay County Emergency Management officials announced plans on Tuesday ahead of the winter storm expected to bring freezing rain and ice.Officials urge residents to stay off the road starting Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning because icy roadways will cause dangerous conditions. “Because we don’t see this often, I want you to take this seriously,” Emergency Management Director Timothy Devin said. The Florida Highway Patrol will be monitoring bridge safety conditions for major bridges like the Shands and Buckman bridges. Trash collection is canceled on Wednesday as well.
