For over a decade Channel7 has proudly supported the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation schf_kids to help raise much needed funds for sick kids in New South Wales. 7NEWS’ MarkFerguson_7 is at the Children's Hospital in Westmead. 7NEWS

, the annual tax time appeal culminated with Sydney Sick Kids Day on Thursday 22 June, is a chance for individuals, clubs, local businesses, schools, corporate partners and the media to rally behind sick kids, helping to get them back to what they do best – being a kid.

This year’s annual Sydney Sick Kids Day runs from 12am – 11.59pm, with Seven broadcasting live from the hospital throughout the day, to help raise much needed funds to help care for sick kids in NSW. All proceeds from the event will go towards the purchase of essential equipment which will enable the hospital to continue to perform cutting-edge procedures for children.will be the corporate dollar matcher for the day, doubling each donation that is made on June 22.As the appeal ramps up, Fergo gave six-year-old Kurt, who is currently undergoing treatment at the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick for Lymphoblastic Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, the experience of a lifetime as his intern for the day.

The budding newsreader shadowed his idol for an entire afternoon, touring the iconic 7NEWS studio, as Fergo showed him the ins and outs of news presenting. Between hair and make up checks and getting ‘suited up’, Kurt was ready to sit behind the News desk, giving the long time newsreader a run for his money.
