A review of a Switch 2 game highlights new content, including a tougher boss and new gear, while criticizing the persistent performance problems, such as crashes, streaming issues, and framerate drops, despite the game being good and the availability of a day-one patch.
The new boss, Grausam RT: Ω, available in the game’s simulator at your base, is a harder version of Grausam, and it drops development data for two new parts: Crimson Horn and Amalgamate . Naturally, you need two Grausam RT: Ω cores to make each of them, but it’s nice that this updated Grausam is dropping new development data for free.
, I played against other Switch 2 players who were local to me in Tokyo. So I had no connection issues. However, since launch, the game has almost always crashed when you join a non-Switch 2-player game, especially if they are not in the same region as you. You also had issues with how the open world was streamed, and elements would pop in, and the framerate would skip to catch up, but I was told these would be fixed on the day-one patch. However, here we are post-launch, and the Switch 2 version, which I’ve now poured at least 150 hours into, still exhibits these problems.is genuinely good, so it’s frustrating to see the game not get the attention it deserves post-launch when it comes to optimization.
