Swimming Australia has called a “special general meeting” to amend its constitution after World Aquatics threatened to terminate its membership within 30 days.

The international body handed SA a long list of governance issues which it said must be quickly resolved to avoid expulsion.

Picture: Al Bello/Getty Images The constitution will also ensure athletes and coaches have a stronger voice while SA will have a broader voting basis. “On the back of our swimmers’ recent success at the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, the Para Dolphins in Manchester, and in the leadup to Paris 2024, now is the time for Swimming in Australia to be just as high performing out of the pool.
