According to Sugar Land police, they received a call about the shooting around 7 p.m. Sunday outside of the MOD Pizza located near the intersection of the Southwest Freeway and the Grand Parkway. They said two men got into an argument in the parking lot of the restaurant and that’s when one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other in the leg.

Police said a witness saw the suspect get into a vehicle outside the restaurant and leave the scene. The car was spotted in the 2100 block of Canyon Crest. Police surrounded the home for nearly 12 hours and were demanding the suspect and another man in the residence come out. Officers had a perimeter set up in the area at around 1:45 a.m. The suspect and a few others were taken into custody close to 7 a.m., according to Doug Adolph, the communications director for the City of Sugar Land.

According to neighbors, the suspect was inside the residence barricaded amongst family members. Police stayed at the scene to investigate.
