A robbery suspect in Tomball, Texas, led police on a chase, fired shots at officers, and then jumped from a hospital parking garage, sustaining significant injuries. No officers were injured in the shootout.

Police in Tomball, Texas, are investigating a dramatic incident involving a robbery suspect who led officers on a chase, exchanged gunfire, and ultimately jumped from a hospital parking garage. The saga began around 11:30 p.m. Thursday when Tomball police received a report of an aggravated robbery at an apartment complex on Baker Street, near Tomball High School. Officers later spotted a vehicle matching the description provided by the robbery victim.

As they attempted to pull the car over, the driver initiated a brief pursuit that culminated in the parking garage of HCA Houston Healthcare in Tomball. The suspect, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, allegedly fired shots at officers upon their arrival. Police returned fire, prompting the suspect to flee and jump from the top of the parking garage. The suspect sustained significant injuries and was airlifted by Life Flight to another hospital. Thankfully, no officers were injured during the exchange of gunfire. Tomball Police Chief Jeff Bert stated that the case would be presented to the District Attorney's office, who would determine the appropriate charges. Authorities believe the suspect will face aggravated robbery charges, with the potential for additional charges of attempted murder. Chief Bert, who has served the department for nearly five years, noted that this marked the first officer-involved shooting during his tenure.
