Alaska State Troopers say Jesse Lee Jones was taken into custody without incident early Thursday during a call for a verbal disturbance.

PALMER — A 27-year-old man wanted for several days in connection with a fatal shooting at a Midtown Anchorage apartment complex wasJesse Lee Jones is accused of killing Josiah Goecker, a 34-year-old employee of Alpine Apartments, in theJosiah Goecker with wife Carrie and daughter Olivia. Goecker was shot and killed Monday afternoon in the leasing office of the Alpine Apartments, where he worked.
Police started looking for Jones immediately with a large, armed response that closed roads near the complex for hours Monday. Theposted Thursday morning said they responded to an address in Meadow Lakes just west of Wasilla just after 1:45 a.m. for a verbal disturbance. Troopers arriving at the address identified one of the people involved as Jones, who “was found to have an arrest warrant for murder in the first degree,” they said. He was arrested and transported to Anchorage Police Department custody, they said.
