Johnson is accused of shooting and killing former Lowndes County Sheriff John “Big John” Williams in November 2019. He is on trial for a charge capital murder. He previously pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. he has now changed that plea to not guilty. The jury process will continue Thursday at the Macon County Courthouse. The judge says he plans to have four alternates. That would mean 16 people will sit in the jury box.
