Sel Charvet Butler Jr., 27, was booked on suspicion of murder, assault with a deadly weapon and other counts, the sheriff’s department said.
Investigators have arrested a suspect in a dSel Charvet Butler Jr., 27, of Marin City was booked into the county jail on suspicion of murder, assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at an occupied vehicle and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
The shooting happened at about 10 a.m. Sunday in the area of Cole Drive and Drake Avenue in the Golden Gate Village neighborhood. Two gunshot victims were found inside a vehicle. Michael Arthur Rogers II, a 42-year-old Oakland resident, died at a hospital. The other victim survived her injuries. During the investigation, a third person showed up at a hospital with gunshot injuries. That person was Butler, sheriff’s Sgt. Brenton Schneider said.
Authorities placed him in custody Tuesday at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and transferred him to the Marin County Jail on Wednesday.
