Denver police have arrested a suspect in connection with a series of fatal stabbings that occurred over the weekend on or near the 16th Street Mall. The attacks resulted in two deaths, including that of an American Airlines flight attendant.

Denver police arrested a suspect Sunday night in connection with a string of weekend stabbings on or near the 16th Street Mall that killed two people, including an American Airlines flight attendant. Phoenix-based American Airlines flight attendant Celinda Levno was fatally stabbed on Saturday, January 11, at Denver’s 16th Street Mall. \A fourth person was fatally stabbed around 10 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Market Street, where the street intersects with the pedestrian mall.

Police took the suspect into custody following that attack. He has not yet been publicly identified, but investigators said on social media that they believe he is responsible for all four stabbings. \Denver officers responded to the first stabbing in the 700 block of 16th Street, near California Street, around 5:20 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the police department. \Denver investigators did not identify the victim, but the Association of Professional Flight Attendants said the woman killed was Phoenix-based flight attendant Celinda Levno. \Levno, who began her career with America West in 1989, had just celebrated her 35th anniversary of working as a flight attendant, union officials said. “Celinda’s love for her horses, friends and family will always be remembered,” APFA officials said in a release. “We stand in support with Celinda’s family, friends and our colleagues in Phoenix Inflight as they process this senseless tragedy.” \Two men were also injured Saturday in stabbings that happened along the mall — one near Tremont Street around 5:12 p.m. and one near Lawrence Street around 5:54 p.m., police said. \Crime and Public Safety | The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the suspect or the stabbings is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867
