A man is wanted by Denver police after a stabbing spree on the 16th Street Mall Saturday night that resulted in one fatality and two injuries. The motive remains unknown.

DENVER — Police in Denver are looking for a man they said stabbed three people on the 16th Street Mall Saturday night, killing one person and injuring two others.The first stabbing was reported near California Street around 5:30 p.m. Police said the suspect stabbed a woman to death at this location. Her identity has not been released.Moments later, the suspect stabbed a man near Welton Street on the mall. The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.

The suspect stabbed his third victim at 16th and Lawrence Street. The victim transported himself to the hospital, where he, too, is expected to survive, according to police.Police said in a news release that at this stage of the investigation, there appears to be no connection between the suspect and the victims, and the motive is unclear at this time.Police continue to search the area for additional evidence and encourage businesses in these areas to check their surveillance systems for video or images of the suspect.The Denver Police Department has additional officers on the mall Sunday for added security presence, the department said
