Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the forthcoming DCU movie directed by Craig Gillespie releasing in 2026, has begun filming.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is based on the 2021-2022 DC comic book series of the same name by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The script for the movie is written by Ana Nogueira.
“Supergirl travels across the galaxy to celebrate her 21st birthday with Krypto the Superdog. Along the way, she meets a young woman named Ruthye and winds up on a murderous quest for revenge,” a description of the film reads, per Eve Ridley has been tapped to play Ruthye in the DCU movie. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be released in United States theaters on June 26, 2026, from Warner Bros. Pictures. It is part of the DCU’s first chapter, which is titled “Gods and Monsters.”Supergirl will be the second feature film set within James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU. The first movie is Gunn’s Superman, which stars David Corenswet as the Man of Steel and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. That movie will hit theaters this coming July.
Following Supergirl, the Clayface movie written by Mike Flanagan arrives on September 11, 2026. No other DCU movies have release dates at this time, though a number of other film projects — including Andy Muschietti’s The Brave and the Bold, James Mangold’s Swamp Thing, and more — are in the works and in various stages of development.Steven Spielberg convinced Ke Huy Quan that he should star in the new action comedy movie Love Hurts.
