Montgomery, Alabama
Friday morning started with low clouds and fog covering central and south Alabama. However, sunshine became abundant during the afternoon, sending high temperatures into the mid and upper 80s. However, this weekend looks cooler thanks to a Friday night cold front.
The front still looks very unlikely to produce any rain in our area. Although, our sky becomes partly cloudy with winds turning north at 10 to 15 mph. Temperatures fall into the upper 40s north to low 50s south early Saturday morning. High temperatures range from the low to mid 70s Saturday afternoon. The combination of ongoing drought, brisk north to northeast winds, and low humidity creates critical fire weather across central and south Alabama. A red flag warning covers the entire state until 7PM. Avoid outdoor burning, as open flames could spread, causing wildfires. Otherwise, Saturday night looks mainly clear with lows in the low to mid 40s. Sunday looks partly to mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 70s. Next week looks warmer, with high temperatures back in the mid 80s by Tuesday, remaining there for the rest of the week. Chances for rain return next week, though rain coverage looks very spotty Monday and Tuesday. Showers and maybe some Thunder become more widely scattered Wednesday and Thursday.ACTION 8 UPDATE: Opelika man charged with murder in fatal shooting at apartment complex
