Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich announced Monday that a man was sentenced to prison for repeat OVI convictions.
AKRON , Ohio - Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich announced Monday that a man was sentenced to prison for repeat OVI convictions. Johnny Deloach , 59, was found guilty of his 10th drunk driving offense in Ohio for an incident that occurred in 2024.
The conviction is his fourth felony operating a vehicle impaired conviction in Ohio, and is his 11th OVI conviction overall, with prior offenses spanning from 2001 to 2021. The prosecutor’s office said he was sentenced to five years in prison and two years of post-release control. Deloach was also ordered to pat a $2,000 mandatory fine, and received a class two license suspension, which carries the potential for a lifetime suspension. Between public transit, ride-share options, and more, there is zero excuse for drunk driving in Summit County. I am grateful that no one was injured or killed due to Deloach’s actions, and hopefully this sentence means he is done endangering innocent people on our streets for good.Preliminary autopsy results revealed for American college student found dead in water in SpainMan in custody after mother and 12-year-old son killed in shooting: Akron PoliceSentencing for man guilty of stealing ambulance from Geauga County hospital Toledo man accused of throwing coffee at officer & assaulting jail staff found incompetent to stand trialStark County Sheriff’s Office locate missing teen girl
