AKRON, Ohio - The jury is still deliberating, but the judge is holding a special hearing Monday afternoon in the FirstEnergy HB 6 corruption trial.PREVIOUS: No verdict yet in the FirstEnergy HB 6 corruption trial The jury resumed deliberations Friday in the corruption trial of two former FirstEnergy executives charged in the Ohio House Bill 6 bribery scandal.

While there is no verdict yet, prosecutors met in the courtroom after two exhibits inadvertently made it into the jury room. The jury trial for Charles Jones, 70, and Michael Dowling, 61, began Jan. 27 in front of Summit County Court of Common Pleas Judge Susan Baker Ross. Closing arguments were heard March 16 and the morning of March 17. The jury was given the case the afternoon of the 17th.The prosecution called a total of 26 witnesses during the six week trial. The defense called a total of three witnesses, including, Republican U.S. Sen. Jon Husted. Sen. Husted has not been accused of any wrongdoing.Earlier this month, money laundering charges were dropped against both defendants.
