With the summer breeze and hanging out on the beach or taking a hike in the mountains or national park, our heads clear and we gain a fresh perspective on our lives, priorities and careers. We might have embarked on our vacation or weekend getaway annoyed at work and thinking that we need to make a career change, that our job doesn’t suit us anymore, or that we feel like our career is not in sync with our current values.
That means, she added, “you design a work life that answers ‘what would I love? What would I bring? What would I create? What would I earn? Women tend to undervalue their own skills, experience and expertise, so we need to remember we are more than the words on our résumés.
She also pointed out that now is a key time for women, with the economy shifting toward women’s natural strengths. “Actually, we're going into a good period now where I think employers and organizations are looking for the skillset that you have more than the job titles that you have. And that's good for women because we have a lot of skills that we will have acquired in different arenas. Bring in your all,” she said.
