Temperatures will reach the mid 90s, with the heat index near 100 the next few days
A clear sky over Dallas taking feels like temperatures to the triple digits on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. A typical early summer pattern is in control across the Southern Plains. This pattern features a ridge of high pressure, which will keep skies mostly sunny and free of any organized rain chances. It will remain mostly sunny, hot and humid through Sunday with highs in the mid-90s and afternoon heat index values near 100.
Some low rain chances return by early next week as tropical moisture surges into Southeast Texas and perhaps parts of North Texas, resulting in some afternoon and evening showers and storms. There is still uncertainty as to whether or not the tropical system in the Gulf will develop. For now it appears the heaviest rain will stay south of DFW. But pay close attention to the tropical forecast next week.Partly cloudy and humid, with a 20% chance of showers, mainly southeast of Dallas. Low: 76.
