One student was killed and another was injured after a shooting inside Antioch High School in Nashville, Tennessee , on Wednesday. The shooter is also deceased.The shooting took place at about 11:09 a.m. ET, officials said during a news conference. The shooter, identified only as a 17-year-old male, took out a pistol and fired multiple shots in the cafeteria. The shooter took the bus to school before the shooting, according to police.
Another student suffered a face injury but was not hit by gunfire, police said. This student is being treated at a local hospital. SWAT teams have cleared the school building and there is no threat at this time. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives , the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations and the FBI are assisting with the incident. Students were taken to a reunification site located at 3654 Murfreesboro Pike, which is less than a mile away from the school.
