Having recently wrapped up one of the defining shows of the last decade, the Duffer Brothers are gearing up to begin a creative partnership with Paramount. As part of their new deal, the brothers will be able to create theatrical films, which wasn't possible in their previous partnership with Netflix.
However, they will always be among the streamer's most successful collaborators thanks to Stranger Things. In addition to the sci-fi series, which concluded its run at the end of 2025, the brothers have executive-produced two other shows for Netflix. May will see the release of The Boroughs, a new sci-fi show revolving around older heroes. However, the Duffers' first post-Stranger Things project debuted this week to positive reviews and an impressive audience response. The eight-episode horror limited series revolves around a couple and their impending wedding, which is disrupted by something very bad indeed. It features Camila Morrone in the lead role alongside Adam DiMarco. Incidentally, the new show has an identical Rotten Tomatoes score to the final season of Stranger Things. Both projects are sitting at an 82% score on the aggregator website, although this was considered a step down for the Duffers' generation-defining blockbuster, whose early seasons were received far more positively. The show's final season was criticized for leaving plot lines unresolved, relying too heavily on visual effects, and lacking the charm.
