According to Plainfield police, more than 500 people are in the area of where Fiedwenya Fiefe went missing yesterday in an effort to locate her. If seen, call 911 immediately.
PLAINFIELD — As crews continue their search Friday for Fiedwenya Fiefe, a missing 4-year-old Plainfield girl last seen Thursday afternoon, an official says they are not giving up hope that they'll be able to find her.
She is also attracted to water. There are about 14 ponds in the neighborhood and those surrounding it.“Any child that’s missing, even for five minutes, it's devastating for everyone involved,” Aldridge said."We are still keeping hope that we will find her. We are not ruling anything out at this time."On Friday afternoon, Plainfield police requested the public's help in their search. Public safety officials will meet volunteer searchers at 2 p.m.
Aldridge asked that anyone who lives in the neighborhoods being searched check their properties. That includes under their decks and in their bushes. Aldridge said crews will leave no stone unturned and are using sonar and all other tools at their disposal to search for her. Each of the ponds in the neighborhood were search two or three times, but due to the murky, dark water, they plan to continue searching those areas.
According to police, Fiedwenya was at home with her family and wandered off. She was last seen around 2 p.m. Thursday. A Silver Alert was issued at 5:34 p.m. Thursday.
