An update on the death of BBC Radio 2 DJ Steve Wright has been revealed three months after his tragic passing, with no inquest set to take place after his 'unexpected' death
Three months after his tragic passing, further details of BBC Radio 2 DJ Steve Wright's cause of death have been revealed.
It has now been disclosed that no inquest will be conducted, with the latest news from Westminster Register Office that his death is yet to be registered. In typical instances, a death should be registered within five days, inclusive of weekends and bank holidays, as per gov.uk guidelines. A Coroner generally probes sudden, violent or unnatural deaths like accidents or suicides. They hold power in deciding whether there are reasons for an inquest even in cases of natural death, as when neglect is suspected, or if the deceased was under police custody or incarcerated at the time of their passing.
In a touching tribute to Steve's legacy, Michael Ball has been named the new host of the Sunday love songs programme on BBC Radio 2, a slot Steve famously filled with warmth and charm. The show has been aptly renamed Love Songs With Michael Ball.
