Lauren Perchinski was charged after a blood analysis showed a blood-alcohol content of .247 percent.
Updated: Jan. 21, 2026, 4:07 p.m.Blood draws showed Deputy Attorney General Lauren Perchinski had a blood alcohol content of .247 percent.A prosecutor in the state Attorney General’s office is facing a drunk driving charge.
Carlisle police said Lauren Perchinski, 34, was charged after officers responded to calls logged at 6:16 p.m. on Christmas Eve, reporting a vehicle stopped in the 200 block of North College Street, partially blocking traffic.Other witnesses said they watched the vehicle moving to that spot at an estimated 5 miles per hour before stopping. The speed limit in the area is 25 mph. Police said they found Perchinski at the wheel of the BMW sport utility vehicle, slurring words and showing other signs of intoxication. Perchinksi, a deputy attorney general who has been working in the office’s Human Trafficking Section, was the only person in the car. She refused to participate in field sobriety or breath tests, according to charging documents, so officers sought and obtained a warrant for a blood draw. That was needed, police said, to get an accurate blood alcohol reading, and to explore whether any medical or other conditions were present. Tests of Perchinski’s sample, according to police, showed a blood alcohol content of .247 percent, more than three times over Pennsylvania’s .08 percent threshold for driving under the influence.Penalties for a conviction in DUI cases where blood-alcohol levels exceed .16 percent include a mandatory 72 hours of restrictive punishment, which can range from some form of house arrest to a brief prison term. Defendants also face a one-year license suspension, or for first-time offenders, a license limited to use with a vehicle outfitted with an ignition interlock device. Perchinski, a Carlisle resident, joined the attorney general’s staff about one year ago. Prior to that she had worked in the Cumberland County District Attorney’s office. Perchinski’s attorney on the case, Jonathan White, declined comment when reached by PennLive Tuesday.
