Pirates stretched their winning run to four matches overall last weekend with a 2-0 win over Richards Bay FC and boosted their chances of a top-two finish.

Jose Riviero's charges dropped to third spot on Friday evening after SuperSport United climbed to second after defeating TS Galaxy. The win over the Natal Rich Boys was also the Buccaneers second on the road from their last four matches as their last defeat dates back to February 25 in the Soweto derby against Kaizer Chiefs.

Chippa were not able to get their first win in the league under the returning Kurt Lentjies and squandered a slender lead for a 1-1 draw with SuperSport United. Lentjies’ men have registered just two points in stalemates from their previous three engagements in all competitions. The Buccaneers wasted numerous chances before going down 1-0 to the Chilli Boys at the death in the reverse encounter in August.
