Tshegofatso Mabasa of Orlando Pirates during the DStv Premiership match between Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United at Orlando Stadium on May 24, 2022 in Johannesburg, South Africa.Sekhukhune United striker Tshegofatso Mabasa has opened on what he believes went wrong for him at parent-club Orlando Pirates.
After three seasons at Pirates, Mabasa left the Buccaneers in search of regular game time at the start of the season, securing a season-long loan at Sekhukhune United. The attacker believes that a lack of opportunities is where it went wrong for him during his time with the Buccaneers, prompting a move elsewhere.
"I think it boils down to maybe not being given an opportunity which was difficult for the coaches at the time because you had a striker that was in form and was playing well, whereas the team usually uses one striker," Mabasa told"So it was difficult to take him out at the time because he was delivering for the team you know, so it was just a matter of waiting for the opportunity and grabbing and hoping that you grab both with both hands when it comes.
