Among the speakers was Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons.
Stamford High School marked Women’s History Month Tuesday by bringing together local female leaders and students for a celebration of women’s achievements and experiences. Remarkable women were honored during the event as they shared their personal stories, career paths, and the valuable lessons they have learned throughout their lives.
The discussions centered on empowerment, leadership, and the importance of representation for young people. Among the speakers was Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons, who joined other community leaders in speaking directly with students about their journeys and professional experiences. Stamford High School Principal Matt Forker said the event has grown significantly since it first began, evolving into an opportunity for students to connect with leaders from their own community. "it started with just recognizing women's history month but now it's just kind of grown into bringing in leaders of our community to kind of speak to our kids," said Forker. "So its kind of a double win for Stamford high because we are able to bring people from our own community to speak to our kids."
