The Johnnies were plus-10 on the glass and turned 15 offensive rebounds into 13 second-chance points. Providence started the second half fast to get within two. St. John’s pushed the lead to 10 after a Lefteris Litopoulos 3-pointer but couldn’t sustain its play, and it was only a five-point game again with an even 12 minutes remaining.
